On Sept. 15th, the other cashier at my work officially quit. She'd been calling in "tired" before that, but on the 15th, she was officially gone. This meant that I suddenly had to work 69 hours every week with only one day off. I didn't always get a lunchbreak, either. After the first 69 hours, it became apparent that I wasn't going to be able to do much more than sleep, work, and sit in front of my computer in a mushy-brained existence. I literally survived on Netflix, Big Finish, and Tumblr because they required little to no thought. Sometimes, I just listened to classical music in an attempt to realign what brain cells still existed. My laundry was lucky it got washed!
But I'm not complaining! These things happen in life sometimes and I knew it was temporary. It was a lot less stressful than taking care of a newborn, after all, and the overtime pay has helped bolster my savings account quite a bit. Unfortunately, it still put me in a bad mood and, when I'm in a bad mood, the last thing I need to do is judge whether artwork gets into my groups or not. I tried to keep up, but after the first week, I completely surrendered.
My work has a new cashier now, though, and she is trained and doing well, so...hopefully...Lord willing...I'll be able to attend to my responsibilities again. Look forward to an influx of artwork!
To those of you who had expired submissions, I can only say, "I'm so sorry!" I have gone through the group messages and those submissions that would have been accepted if they had not expired, have now been invited to the group.
Thank you all for your patience and understanding! Hopefully this won't happen again any time soon!
